Synopsis
In this visually dazzling adaptation of the Rusalka legend, six-year-old Alisa, growing up in a little house by the sea, has taken a rebellious vow of silence. When she's shipped off to a special school, she channels her emotional turmoil into magical telekinetic powers allowing her to foresee the future. Years later, at age 18, leaving for Moscow, she'll meet a man who inspires her to speak again. Packed with resplendent effects, this contemporary fairy tale will capture your heart and your imagination. The fanciful story of an introverted little girl who grows up believing she has the power to make wishes come true gets a modernized take as she journeys to Moscow and grapples with love, urban romance and material reality. Second feature by Azerbaijani director Anna Melikyan was Russian Oscar nominee.
