The splendid cliffs and rich villas serve as the backdrop for director Anne Fontaine's sparkling romantic comedy. A famous Parisian lawyer, unschooled in the ways of l'amour, falls for a flaky, long-legged local beauty after taking on the case of a wealthy woman who has killed her much-younger lover. Nothing goes as planned. One almost expects Grace Kelly and Cary Grant to step out of Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief and into the frame. We follow the adventures and misadventures of Bertrand Beauvois, a self-satisfied jurist who has been provided with a bodyguard to protect him against certain Russian interests, the tough, no-nonsense Christophe. It does not take long before Bertrand discovers that Christophe can be very useful. But things take a turn when the mild-mannered lawyer is dazzled by the attentions of uninhibited Audrey, the stunningly beautiful local television weather girl. With fine French actor Fabrice Luchini as the lawyer, newcomer Louise Bourgoin as Audrey.
