Synopsis

FUGGY FUGGY
dirs. The Brothers McLeod, UK, 2008, 5 min

A droll spoof of a ninja’s daily practice from the quirky UK animation team, The Brothers McLeod. FUGGY FUGGY studies with his master, practices meditation, and battles a slew of inventively oddball martial arts characters.

ZOOLOGIC
dir. Nicole Mitchell, USA, 2007, 5 min

A penguin and gorilla team up to lead the other zoo animals in a slapstick comedic revolution. A funny (and childish) animation about a fussy zookeeper who loses his shorts.

SLEEPING BETTY
dir. Claude Cloutier, Canada, 2007, 9 min

The classic fairy-tale is drawn in beautiful India ink, and humorously parodied. Sleeping Betty is in a narcoleptic stupor in the castle. Her father summons the nearest prince, and the whole kingdom (including a witch and an alien) attempt to rouse her.

JUST SO STORIES “HOW THE WHALE GOT HIS THROAT & HOW THE RHINOCEROS GOT HIS SKIN”
dir. Jean-Jacques Prunès, France, 2007, 13 min

A whale swallows a shipwrecked mariner and changes his diet. The rhino learns a crumby lesson from an Indian baker and goes from donning a tight-fitting suit to wrinkly skin.

DEAR FATTY
dir. Hsin-I Tseng, USA, 2008, 7 min

An animated collage film using cut out photos of real hamsters. A girl imagines the adventurous life of her hamster out in the big world.

THE M MAN
dirs. The Brothers McLeod, UK, 2008, 6 min

With his M shaped hat and pointy chin The M Man embarks on a superhero mission packed with papier mâché barbeques and crop dusting equipment.

VARMINTS
dir. Marc Craste, UK, 2008, 24 min

A beautifully illustrated CG animated sci-fi gem about a gentle little creature surviving the destruction of his natural world. With the help of orbs and a single plant the varmint hero makes a hopeful new start.

CRANK BALLS
dir. Devin Bell, USA, 2007, 6 min

Trapped in a colorless void, the Crank Balls are grumpy. Infectious hues appear and transform their world. A fun stop-motion animated film about getting the giggles.
