Adopted from Peru as a baby, almost eight year-old Koos is becoming increasingly aware of the physical differences between himself and his tall, light-skinned Dutch parents. Still, he is happy and very close to his loving (and really cool) mom and dad. His main concern is a fear of water that leaves him unable to pass his swimming test. But when his parents discover they are unexpectedly expectant with a biological child, Koos grows insecure and understandably confused.
